Job Definition:
The Branch Outside Sales Representative is responsible for the successful growth of the customer base in a given sales region by establishing new customers and actively servicing current customers.
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for maintaining and actively servicing existing BDI customers assigned to a specific sales region by performing various duties including areas such as product quotation and problem resolution.
2. Expected to capture new business opportunities within current customers through numerous strategies such as new product introduction, account targeting, and marketing the current product line.
3. Will identify, and actively pursue new business opportunities to expand the current customer base by working with management in developing sales strategies and new account targeting.
4. Expected to work closely with suppliers to market and sell new and current products.
5. Responsible for working within a branch when needed to fulfill a need such as filling in for an inside sales representative.
6. Expected to be able to travel extensively, often more than five nights away from home in any given month.
7. Responsible for other duties as they are assigned.
Education & Experience:
H.S. Diploma or GED required. 3-5 years in a sales environment a must, with additional experience in the Industrial Supply Industry required. Must possess exceptional communication and presentation skills to be successful. Individual must be highly self-motivated with the ability to motivate others. Must possess a high degree of Mechanical aptitude and the ability to organize and multi-task. Strong product knowledge of bearings and power transmission also a must.
