Bearing protection from dust particles is paramount when selecting a mounted unit solution. In applications that contain fine particles such as pharmaceutical or grain processing, standard ball bearing units are more likely fail due to dry particle contamination. Residual dust can get between the inner ball bearings and raceways during operation, causing permanent damage to the mating surfaces over time.
Ultra-Class™ is up to the task, allowing for usage in these specialized food grade applications. Using a combined elastomeric seal in tandem with NTN’s outer flinger design, each mounted unit exhibits a fan-like mechanism that keeps particles from getting near the inner ball bearing and raceways. The end result is longer bearing life, allowing you to keep your production lines running.
